The striking farmhouse seen in this photograph was that of Joseph F. Sheetz; it was located on south Green Street at the northeast corner of Green and Tilden Streets. The property was purchased by Calvary Methodist Church from Sheetz’s wife, Bertha, who died in 1992. Sheetz and his wife are buried in Brownsburg Cemetery.

Identified on the photograph, Rev. Lester Knopfmeier stands in front of the Methodist church built on the former location of the Sheetz farm. Today, the church building is gone, and this location is occupied by a business. Calvary Methodist Church is currently located in a new home at 575 West Northfield Drive.
